Frequently Asked Questions

By Maestro Monteverdi and the rest of The Afghanistan Posse

Q: Are you really from Afghanistan?

A: Sure, how can you dare not to believe us!

Q: Do you accept articles from foreigners?

A: Yes, we would, if anybody wrote them.

Q: What's your relationship with the Taleban?

A: Under Taleban rule eL aFGHANO was also known as "official newsletter of the emirate of aghanistan" but actually we were never friends of the Taleban. On the contrary, we were an illegal e-mag! All e-mags were illegal - use of computers was illegal. But we wanted to protect ourselves: If a Taleb finds our e-mag and reads it, he should think we're on their side, so we called ourselves "official newsletter of the emirate of aghanistan". Now Afghanistan is free (no emirate) and we needn't call ourselves so.

Q: What's your relationship with the USA?

A: We love the USA because they brought liberty to Afghanistan and we ask citizens of other countries to call the USA to bring liberty to their countries, too. (e.g. North Korea, China, France.)

Q: What's the surname of Pedro (S.)?

A: Pedro is a descendant of a very powerful Portuguese whose first name was Antonio. Antonio S. ruled the country in the 2nd half of the 20th century.

Q: What made Arturo Ui take on this pseudonym?

A: Well, what made Berthold Eugen Friedrich Brecht take on the pseudonym Bertolt Brecht?

Q: What's better, hUGi or pAIn?

A: Both suck, so why do you care anyway? However, pAIn has far less articles than hUGi so there are far less things that suck about it.

Q: What do I have to do to please the one and only?

A: Pray with head towards Kabul six times a day, read every new eL aFGHANO when it's released and worship Napoleon the Prophet.

Q: What do Jacques Chirac and dipswitch have in common?

A: Both of them are selfimportant pygmies!
